Ryan was fantastic to work with. He was very receptive to my feedback and changes, and made sure I was completely happy with the final product.
Would absolutely recommend Ryan for book or cover designs

Internal Design and Typography

Children’s Book Design
and Formatting

Your manuscript and artwork are ready. The next stage is turning them into a finished book.

I design, layout and format illustrated children’s picture books for print and eBook publication.

Each project focuses on how text, illustration and page flow work together across every spread, ensuring the book reads as one complete, structured experience.

Most projects begin once illustrations are in progress or complete, when layout and pacing become critical.

What I Do

I design and format illustrated children’s picture books for print and digital publication, ready for publication platforms.

This includes:

  • full interior book design and page layout

  • typography and text placement within illustrated spreads

  • pacing, page turns and narrative flow

  • sequencing across the full book

  • input during sketch or storyboard stages where required

  • print-ready files for Amazon KDP, IngramSpark and other platforms

  • eBook formatting where required

  • Everything is prepared so your book is ready to upload and publish without technical stress.

Process

Work begins with your manuscript and artwork.

The process is straightforward.

I structure the book as a complete sequence, building layout and typography across the full document so text and illustration work together on every spread.

In some projects, I’m involved earlier during sketch or storyboard stages, helping shape layout, pacing and page turns before final artwork is completed.

From there, the book is developed into a consistent, fully designed and formatted publication, ready for print and digital release.

Experience

15+ years as a graphic designer, with nearly 200 children’s books designed and formatted in the last five years.

Work includes award-recognised titles and books published through major retail and self-publishing platforms.

Awards include First Place in the Purple Dragonfly Awards for Best Children’s Poetry Book (2025), an International Impact Award, and multiple Readers’ Favorite Book Awards (Silver and Gold).

This includes fully designed and formatted interior files, prepared for print and digital platforms, along with eBook files where required.

Everything is delivered ready for upload to your chosen platform, including Amazon KDP, IngramSpark and others.

Enquiry

If your illustrated children’s book is close to completion, I can take it from manuscript and artwork to a fully structured, professionally designed publication.

You don’t need to figure out layout, formatting or print setup.

That’s what I handle.

"I don't even know how I can communicate how amazing Ryan was. I ended up hiring him to re-format my book after being dissatisfied with my previous purchase with another company. I wasn't sure what to expect (or if it could be improved) but I knew I needed something more. Ryan not only delivered professional, on-brand work, he also took my book to another level entirely! I went from settling with a book to absolutely loving it! I'm so dang proud of my project and it's all thanks to them."
