Children’s Book Design
I design illustrated children's books for print and eBook publication.
With nearly 200 children's books completed in the last five years, I work with authors to turn manuscripts and artwork into fully designed books ready for publication.
Every spread is designed individually, ensuring the text and illustrations work together while maintaining consistency across the full publication.
Most projects begin once the illustrations are complete, although I'm often involved earlier when page layouts, pacing and spread planning are still being worked out.

Building the Book
A successful children's book is more than a collection of illustrations and text.
The way information is presented on each page affects readability, pacing and how the story is experienced.
I build the layout across the entire book, considering how each spread connects to the next and how the reader moves through the story.
The result is a professionally designed book that feels consistent, engaging and ready for publication.
Working with Illustrators
I regularly work alongside illustrators, integrating completed artwork into the final book design.
Where needed, I can also provide feedback during earlier stages of the project, helping to shape page layouts and spread planning before artwork is finalised.
Publication Ready
Once the design is complete, the final files are prepared for publication.
This includes print-ready files for Amazon KDP, IngramSpark and other publishing platforms, along with fixed-layout eBooks where required.
Everything is supplied ready for upload and publication.
